Terms of Service

Effective 2026-05-20.

1. Agreement

By using Beacons (the hosted service at beacons.sh and console.beacons.sh, the bcn CLI, the SDKs, and the official apps) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and your peer signing keys secure. Beacons cannot recover lost private keys — that is the architectural property that makes the service auditable.

3. Service

We will use commercially reasonable efforts to keep the hosted control plane available. The status page reports current health. Enterprise customers receive specific SLAs in their contracts.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to the Acceptable Use Policy. Violations may result in account suspension or termination after written notice.

5. Open core

The Rust workspace, SDKs, CLI and clients are dual-licensed MIT/Apache-2.0. Hosted control plane operations and enterprise features are commercial; their use is governed by these terms.

6. Liability

The service is provided as-is. Our liability is capped at the amount you paid for the service in the prior twelve months. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms after written notice and reasonable opportunity to cure.

8. Changes

We will notify customers of material changes at least 30 days in advance.
